Era: 1923 and 1990s
Location: Curwood Castle Park
In 1923, Curwood Castle was under construction—the romantic writing studio that author James Oliver Curwood was building along the Shiawassee River.
About 70 years later, in the 1990s, the Owosso Historical Commission had the Castle north turret rebuilt due to issues with the bathroom area.
The restoration work ensured that Curwood literary legacy would continue to inspire visitors for generations to come.
