Frederick C. Frieseke, the American Impressionist painter, had connections to Owosso through the Frieseke family brick business.
In recent years, generous donations have brought his work home. Hank and Liesel Meijer donated a lovely 1906 Frieseke painting Afternoon Tea on the Terrace to the Shiawassee Arts Center.
Harlow and Cherie Murray donated a c.1920 painting Dressing in loving memory of Cherie late parents, former Owosso residents Esther and Charles Sanders.
These generous gifts ensure that world-class art is accessible to the Owosso community.
