The annual Field Meet brought together all Owosso grade schools at the end of the school year for a day of fun and games at Willman Field.
In 1958, a parade down Main Street featured Washington School students passing Ferris Bros., Williams Drug Store, The Elite Restaurant, Arthur Ward Co. Hardware and Furniture stores, and Cunningham Drug Store.
The Capitol Theatre was playing The Sheepman starring Glenn Ford.
The Field Meet represented the best of community spirit—children from all neighborhoods coming together in friendly competition.
